The first part of Stephen Sheridan's two-part dramatisation of Dorothy L Sayer's "Strong Poison" broadcasts at 3pm on Sunday 8th November on BBC Radio 4 and available on catch-up via BBC Sounds. It's the fifth of Sayer's Lord Peter Wimsey novels and sees the detective come to the aid of a free spirited novelist on trial for murder. Starring Harry Lloyd, Celia Imrie and Donald Sumpter, it's Radio Times Choice "...a thoroughly engrossing tale.."

To mark World Menopause Day, EastEnders has produced two stand alone short films, THE PAUSE, featuring Yolande & Chelsea and Linda & Honey. Team writer, Lynne Dallow scripted the films which are available to watch on all EastEnders social media channels from 18th October. A moment to pause. A conversation worth having. Brain fog, hot flushes and drawers full of handheld fans… sometimes it helps to compare notes with a friend. In ‘The Pause: Linda & Honey’, Linda opens up about menopause, and Honey shares her own experiences. Their honest conversation makes space for the things that too often go unspoken or get brushed aside. ‘The Pause: Chelsea & Yolande” sees Chelsea open up about the beginning of her perimenopause journey, while Yolande reflects on her own experiences. Two women at different stages of life, finding common ground, reassurance and humour in an honest chat.

New BBC crime drama series, The Northumbria Mysteries, starring Robson Greene is scheduled to premiere on BBC One at 2pm on Friday 23 October 2026. Keith Temple scripted Episode 5 in the series "Dust to Dust". The North East-set detective series pairs Joe Ruby, an ex-convict and gambler with links to the criminal underworld with DI Rose O'Connell, an Oxford-educated detective, in an odd-couple partnership set against Northumberland's beautiful coast and market towns.

Ciaran Cruickshank first episode of long-running series RIVER CITY broadcasts on BBC Scotland on Wednesday 5th August at 10pm and is repeated on BBC One Scotland at 7pm the following day. For those south of the border, it's available on BBC iPLayer. It's a big episode as Mulvaney is left desolate when his attempt to help Francis has dire consequences. Caitlin briefly considers putting a stop to her campaign against Scarlett, Tommy ends up in the firing line of Callum and Shak’s revenge prank, and Eddie has a revelation for Tyler.
